Trust

It is easy to say that we need to trust the Lord, or that we are trusting in Him. But, just like in repentance, we need to go deeper than saying I am. We need to look at what we are trusting Him for; get down to the specifics of each thing you are trusting Him for. Make a list, write down everything you think of. Here is the start of my list. Some things we might have never thought of, we blindly trust in Him for.

-Salvation.
-Every breath that I take.
-That every word spoken by Him, are true and infallible. (i.e. The Holy Bible)
-That He will never stop loving us, and protecting us.
-That He will provide a companion in His time, and one that will give Him the most Glory.
-That He is in control, and everything is pre planned out.
-That we can lean on Him.
-That everything God does is for His good, and for His glory. (not mine or yours.)
-With our finances.
-With our futures.
-With our families.
-With our lives.
-With the lives of the ones we love.
-That He will provide for us all of our needs? (all things great and small.)
-That He will deliver on the promises that He has given us.

The list goes on and on.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and He will make your path straight. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. “ Psalm 3:5-6

Service

"Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, and lean NOT on your OWN understanding, but...." (Emphasis added)

I watched the movie Flywheel, and God pricked my conscience. It was this verse. I think its amazing how He uses the simplest things to make SUCH an impact on us in great ways, in the exact time, and the exact way we need it. This movie is one of those things....

I love knowledge, learning and understanding. For me, that is where my problem is. It is I, I, I. It is saying that I want to be in control, for with MY understanding, this is what I want. This is where the problem is.

First off, I lack in sooo much understanding and wisdom. Second, it is putting me above God, and saying that I am more important than He is. Third, the devil loves this because he can then inject more temptation and confusion. It clouds our walk with God, and we start to stray off His path.

As I stated above, it amazes me how God uses the simplest things, like a dvd, a few words from a friend, just the right things happening, to point us back onto His path, and we then come back into the light. For the ones that love Him, it is always a gentle tap back into the light. That is how He is a loving God.

God promised us that He will provide for us, and not to worry about it. We are to concern our selves with ourselves, but for Him. We know that He will provide and protect us. Biblical marriage is modeled to show this. The husband concerns himself about his wife, not him self, and like wise, the wife for him, and not her self. It is also how the True Christians should act. For others, not our selves. Like everything else, the world has it backwards. They say it is all about ME. God says its not about the me, its about God, and Him alone!

So, what are we to do? Just as the verse says. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight." Trust Him, not what you know, see or anything except Him. In everything you do, Give Him the glory, Honer, praise and thanksgiving.

In His service,
your wretched brother. (Dave)

Go serve your King, and no one else.

A Message to a friend.

It was a crazy day indeed.

What I believe. Well, as the first line to Amazing Grace says, how sweet the sound that saved a Wretch like me. I want to explain it, and there is more than just that. To understand why, we need to look at the actions that I have done. To most people, they would know me, they would say I am a good person. I have seen my self in light of Gods law. God demands perfection. One violation, means damnation. The other thing that we need to know is that He see's ALL our thoughts, from every moment in time.

I have lied before, making me a liar.
I have stolen things. It does not matter what it was, its still theft. I am a theif.
I have looked with lust, thus making me an adulter at heart. (He see's our thoughts)
I have not honored my parents.
I have blasphemed His name. He will not hold anyone who does that guiltless.

The list goes on and on.

At the end of my life, as with Every single life, is Judgment day. When God looks at me, He see's Every law I broke. Every time. To enter Heaven, His standard is not a single broken Command. Even if a single law is broken, just once, it is still damnation. The punishment is His wrath, Hell. According to this, Everyone is damned. BUT, He saved us. Christ, God in man's form, went to the cross so that instead of you and I taking that wrath for the laws we broke, sin, Christ took the wrath, and died for them. Christ, being God in man's form, was the only person to ever exists to have never sinned. He took the sins, and paid the price. Why, so you could receive the grace of God, and enter into heaven. Not for you works, but by His grace and Mercy.

What do we need to receive this forgiveness? It is two things. Repentance, and faith. Repentance is the asking for forgiveness, and turning from those sins, turn away from the desire to break those laws. Faith is believing with out any proof that God Is real, He has saved you. There is more, I can explain it for you if you need it.

90% of what you see today in the media and such is not Biblical Christianity. There is soo much twisting and taking out of context that is sickening. People do not take a manual for a car, open it up and read one sentience and then proceed to fix their car. You need to look at the entire book, and then see what it says, not what you want it to say.

Please know that I am not here to "convert" you. I wanted to show you who I am, what I live for. This message is for you, and it is between you and God. If you need anything, please ask. There is no greater thing to do in this life than to set our path to where we will go after our lives are required, and the bill has to be paid at the judgement seat.

I know this is alot to read, especially with all that reading you have to do. Pls know that I am telling you all this because I do care about you and where you will end up at judgment. If I did not care, I would not have spent all this time writing this to you.

Dedication

This is not my blog, but is the inspiration that God has given to me to share, and to help build my self up.

Who is our affection.

One of the reasons why I am struggling with depression is that it pains me to know that I have no one. I have not had a very good close friend. It seems like no one puts me above others, I am always left at the bottom. It hurts. Its a lot of the hurt I feel, and its why I am so scared of people. I have been hurt so many times that they only way I found to deal with it is to numb everything, absolutely everything. It puts me into tears knowing that if something happened to my brother or my parents, I would have no one for emotional support. No one to get a hug from, no one to comfort me. I try to find good friends, but the always forsake me with out a word. Gone...

When I was in high school, grade 8 or so, I was teased. The hicks would ask me who my best friend was, to which I would respond, Jesus. They would all laugh. I did not know why, and it hurt deeply. They did this a few times, just to get a laugh.

The other night, after I watched an episode of Wretched TV, and I was in the bathroom getting a drink of water, and it hit me. I have always had the best friend I longed for. Its someone that I could have a relationship with, one that can go deeper and closer than any other relationship that any man can have. One better than a husband and a wife can share. It is the one who never leaves, never changes, will never forsake me. He saved me while I was still a wretch; still a young child with the adamic nature, and all the other sins as a child that I heaped on. He took it. He paid it, in Full! That best friend is the one that I would confess to those hicks all of those years ago.

In that episode of Wretched, Todd shows all of the things that we are in Christ. It was quite up lifting, and yet, humbling to see everything we have been given as free gifts. I will post the verses that Todd showed in another blog.

As in any relationship, it has to grow. It is not over night that things happen. I know that I will not see the fullness of the relationship on this side of eternity. But, putting my focus and affections on starting to build and depend on Him now is what being a true biblical christian is all about. When you get closer to Him, you naturally start to hate sin. You desire the things of God, and not of this pitch black world. Knowing a tenth of 1%, if we have that much, of His holiness and righteousness, it is very mind blowing to know that He wants not to just save us, but to be close to us. The more I learn, the more that I am taken back by that thought.

Getting back to the main point, it is when we put our affection on Him, seeking after him with everything, that our lives get aligned with Him. All the things that the scriptures say that we have in Him are most exposed and fully lived. It is hard to love this way when we are bombarded with media telling that we need earthly love and to have a spouse/girl-boy friend. Then, more recently, they bombard us with U need to be having sex, lots of it, with lots of people. This FILTH is everywhere nowadays. The good that come from this, is that we have more time to be in his word, instead of watching lukewarm tv and movies. My heart desired a wife, and not the things of God. God is keeping me single until the day that I am grounded 100% in Him, and only desiring Him. Then, if its in His will, her and I will “bump” into each other, and then the rest is future history.

In His service,

Show Me...

Show me friends who desire God. Friends that desire fellowship, accountability and who treasure every friendship they have; not abandoning them for anything else, nor letting those friends slip away. Friends who desire to give God all glory!

Show me a family who desires God; who puts all of their trust in Him. Ones that long to be a great witness for God for the world to see. A family that loves, chaises and protects every other family member; for the family is incomplete when one member is absent. For when the family is living as instructed by God in His word, He is MOST glorified.

Show me a wife that is modest and submissive to her husband. (as the church is to be submissive to Christ)One that desires to keep God the primary affection in her life. A wife who cares and nourishes her husband in all his needs. One with full respect and trust in her Husband. A wife that takes charge for the care and the nourishment of the family. For in that, God will be fully Glorified!

Show me a church that is FULL of Christians; ones believe fully and exclusively in the truth that is the uncorrupted and Holy words from God. (His Holy Bible.) A church that values every person and keeps them accountable to each other and to the scriptures that it is built upon. A church that keep the flock in and maintain proper discipline in accordance with Biblical principles.

Show me that, and I will show you a godly man who will protect his family, friends church, and the name above all names, that he has given himself too. I will show U a man that will exalt his God above all. Proclaiming His name, and the work that He had accomplished at Calvary.

You will see a man who cherishes his wife, holding her above him self, protecting and meeting all of her needs. A man that protects his family, and holds each and every one of them to their actions, including himself. One who balances loving and disciplining the family; according to Biblical principles. One who leads the family in the study of God, correcting and teaching them with out fail.

Above all, a man that puts himself below his God, his wife, his family, his church and his friends, to the point that if the cost is his life, he will gladly lay it down for them. For such a gift for them is the best thing that he can give, for the greatest gift given to us is Salvation. This greatest gift was by Gods grace, shown upon the Cross.

A man who desires to Glorify God in all that God has given and instructed him to do.
